LONDON | London-based singer/songwriter Jack Savoretti has released a single in support of the 5,000 Seeds of Peace graduates working for change in conflict regions.
A song of change, “Written in Scars (Live)” is influenced by the movement of people around the world marching in the streets for a better tomorrow.
“It is about taking things into your own hands when the current situation warrants so, regardless of the harm that may come,” says Savoretti. “It’s a brave song for a brave cause.”
Savoretti, whose poetic lyrics have been featured multiple times on One Tree Hill and Grey’s Anatomy, shared “Written in Scars” with over 200 Seeds of Peace supporters during the Bridges to Peace Walk in London on September 29.
Savoretti wrote the song with Sam Dixon and the performance was recorded by Abbey Road Live Here Now at the 2013 Cornbury Festival in Oxfordshire. On the recording, Savoretti is joined by Pedro Vito on lead guitar, Gerry Morgan on drums and Tom Benzon on bass.
All profits generated from sales of the recording will be donated to Seeds of Peace to further its mission of empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the relationships, understanding, and skills needed to advance lasting peace.
Beautiful song! Nice theme, nice melody, great performance.
I like Seeds of Peace. And I would like to be in Seeds of Peace.
