Dear Friends,
As we near Thanksgiving, I want to express how thankful we are to have your support. Your continued belief in Seeds of Peace’s brave peacemakers in the Middle East and South Asia gives us all hope for a brighter future. On behalf of Seeds of Peace’s global network of over 4,000 young leaders and educators, thank you!
A few exciting opportunities and updates:
• Chase Bank is giving over $5 million to charity via a Facebook challenge. In order to receive a portion of the gift, Seeds of Peace needs your vote! With just one click, you can help us win $25,000—or even $1 million. Please vote today. And … to go the extra mile (or if you are not on Facebook), please encourage your friends, family and coworkers to vote as well.
• Next week, 14 Egyptian, Jordanian, Israeli and Palestinian Seeds will reconvene in Washington, DC, for the concluding component of our Women’s Leadership for Economic Empowerment Program, sponsored by ExxonMobil. For the past year, participants have engaged with local NGOs to lead projects of their own design in their home communities. While in Washington, these remarkable women will meet with members of Congress, State Department officials, leading international NGOs, and others to report on their initiatives to further hone their leadership skills while promoting women’s empowerment in their home communities. They are impressive examples of coexistence and leadership and highlights from the week will be posted daily on our website—so stay tuned!
• 6th Annual “Stand Up for Peace” Comedy Event — Tuesday, December 1, Gotham Comedy Club, New York City. Laugh with young professionals from around New York while Arab and Jewish comedians share the stage. This year’s talented lineup includes comedians who have appeared on Comedy Central, ABC’s Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, NBC’s Last Comic Standing and VH1’s Best Week Ever. Space is limited so reserve your seats now!
Thank you again for your belief in the work of Seeds of Peace. Happy Thanksgiving!
With best wishes,
Leslie Lewin
