Andrew Cedar is an investor at Long Ridge Equity Partners focused on fast-growing companies in the financial technology space.
Previously, Andrew worked at McKinsey & Company as a consultant and later worked directly for McKinsey’s Global Managing Director. While at McKinsey, Andrew advised corporations and governments in the United States, Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.
From 2009-2013, Andrew was a member of the Obama Administration’s foreign policy team. He was Senior Director for Global Engagement at the National Security Council at the White House, where he was responsible for coordinating U.S. policy and programs related to public diplomacy, international broadcasting, civil society engagement, entrepreneurship, and the intersection of technology and foreign policy. He also helped to lead the development of policy on global youth issues, the rise of social media, and U.S. public engagement in the wake of the Arab Spring.
Before working at the White House, Andrew was Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. In 2008, he was a member of President Barack Obama’s Transition Team.
He has a B.A. from Yale University, an MPhil in International Relations from Cambridge University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
He has been named a World Economic Forum Young Global Shaper and was also a counselor at Seeds of Peace International Camp in 2004.
