To further advance its objectives, Seeds of Peace has formed the Young Leadership Committee, a New York-based group comprised of young professionals (25-45 years old). Each year, the Young Leadership Committee holds the Bid for Peace Celebrity Auction to raise important funds and expose more people to the work of Seeds of Peace. Last year’s event, which raised close to $1M, featured former President Bill Clinton and a live musical performance by the Barenaked Ladies.
Since 1993, Seeds of Peace has graduated over 2,000 teenagers representing 22 nations from its internationally recognized conflict resolution and coexistence program. Through these programs, at the International Camp in Maine and at its Center for Coexistence in Jerusalem, participants develop empathy, respect, communication/negotiation skills, confidence, and hope—the building blocks for peaceful coexistence. A jointly published newspaper, a listserve, educational conferences and seminars ensure year-round follow-up programming.
Hammerstein Ballroom is located at 311 W. 34th Street, New York, NY.
