OTISFIELD | The 18th season of the Seeds of Peace camp is under way in western Maine.
More than 4,000 campers have attended Seeds of Peace since it was founded in 1993. Its aim is to bring together teenagers from countries at conflict in hopes of moving them beyond deep-rooted hatreds.
For the opening, each delegation sings its national anthem and the Seeds of Peace anthem before holding a flag-raising ceremony.
The camp is holding two sessions this summer.
