JERUSALEM | The Palestinian, Israeli, American, and UK Seeds took part in the four-day seminar outside Jerusalem from January 12-15.
This is the 6th year Seeds of Peace has partnered with Harvard Law School professor Robert Bordone, who directs the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program, and his colleagues from the Program.
The seminar featured intensive educational training on the skills and theories of effective mediation and negotiation. Seeds explored the concepts and intricacies of effective communication and how people engage with each other on a daily basis. The seminar aimed to improve upon the way Seeds handle difficult conversations and situations.
“The seminar taught me that each person has their own emotional footprint and I should not expect the same emotional reaction that I would expect out of myself,” said one Palestinian Seed.
Overall, the Seeds learned how to bring their improved communication and negotiation skills back to their communities.
“In my daily life, there are hundreds of opportunities to use the skills we learned and now I can approach using them more confidently,” said an American Seed. “It will be exciting to use these skills back home.”
