We all have the power to notice the things we want to change about our societies, and we have the power to take action to make that change real.
When you leave Global Institute, you will be equipped with experiences, skills, and ideas for how to be an active changemaker in your community.
Action-taking is driven by your passions, your interests, and your concerns. Whether you are just entering adulthood or you have already been working in your field for a few years, you have the power to enact change. Our time together will give us the opportunity to understand how people from various fields and different life experiences all matter as we collectively work for more just and inclusive communities.
Near the end of the program, we will take the time to plan specific projects for social change. Together we ask the question, “What do I want my community to look like in 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years?” As you return home, you will be supported by the global Seeds of Peace Network as you take both individual and collective action to bring your project to life.
Past projects have included community gardens, anti-hate online campaigns, advocacy for bilingual (Hebrew-Arabic) subtitles in Jerusalem cinemas, building coalitions around immigrant issues, and a ballot initiative to address police violence.
“We can’t change the whole world, but we can change our community. If we can change, then we can help change our friends, and then it spreads. Our community projects are doing that work.”
