NBA players are in western Maine today, teaching campers at the Seeds of Peace camp in Otisfield about basketball fundamentals, teamwork and cooperation.
The players participating in the 5th annual “Play for Peace” basketball clinic include Etan Thomas of Washington, Jarron Collins of Utah, Brian Scalabrine of Boston and J.J. Reddick of Orlando, as well as former Chicago Bulls great B.J. Armstrong.
Some 180 Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians, Egyptians and Americans are now taking part at the camp, located in Otisfield. Camp organizers say that one way to overcome ethnic and religious barriers is by turning adversaries into teammates.
