In this eminently timely and poignant installment, True Life: I Live in the Terror Zone examines the realities of life for three young Israelis and three young Palestinians as they try to navigate their treacherous war-torn world.
Viewers will meet Yoni, an Israeli, as he struggles with feelings of rage and helplessness over the murder of his mother by Palestinians. The program also follows Hiba, a Palestinian, as she makes her way home through the maze of Israeli checkpoints for the Muslim holiday of Eid. Exploring life inside the Israeli army, the special trails Tal, as he and his counter-terror paratroop unit hunt Palestinian bomb-makers. Also featured are Najeeb, a Palestinian whose family seeks a better future by attempting to emigrate to the United States; Julia, an Israeli who works for peace despite her own ongoing personal loses and the hostility of her peers; and, finally, Samah, a Palestinian who bunkers down in her house in Nablus avoiding the fighting outside.
Julia, Hiba, and Najeeb are all graduates of Seeds of Peace.
