AMMAN | Jordanian Seeds met with Luma Hamarneh, 2008 Seed who is now a filmmaker and writer, on January 19.
Luma gave a short presentation about her own experiences with Seeds of Peace as well as her career and future projects, and invited the 10 Seeds to join her on a film set.
Speaking about her experience of moving to the Philippines and facing a communications culture shock, Luma said she managed to overcome the challenge by using the skills that she acquired through Seeds of Peace.
“Seeds of Peace empowered me with skills to adjust to the new culture, and fully enjoy it,” said Luma.
“I was able to learn how to interact with other people and learn a considerable amount about life in the culture that is not my own. Furthermore, I was able to gain insight into my own society and learn more about myself.”
It was great to meet the alumni seed luma , and to learn and see how other she used her seeds of peace experience out of camp , back in her communities and even out side of her communities, and how it helped them udjust to the new environment she lived in , in the phillipens.
