MUMBAI | Ten Indian Seeds met at the Bombay International School on November 29 to discuss the meaning of identity as part of a series of monthly meetings.
The Junior Seeds shared their own personal identities and discussed what which elements of these identities are most important to them. The Seeds divided into smaller discussion groups to discuss how one’s environment impacts identity, and one’s identity affects relationships with those who are different from you.
“This led to a meaningful discussion about identity and its various facets,” said Seeds of Peace Director of Indian Programs Sagar Gangurde. “Every Seed contributed and was engaged in the discussion throughout the process.”
The meeting ended with the Seeds thinking about how to identify their own biases, prejudices, and stereotypes by looking carefully and critically at identity and how we view our own and those of others.
