CAIRO | Thirteen Egyptian and American Seeds attended a movie screening of Michael Moore’s latest documentary in Cairo on December 24.
Seeds of Peace partnered with the Zawya Theater for a private screening of the film “Where to Invade Next.” In the film, Moore examines how the United States might learn from European and African countries about ways to improve social and economic issues such as worker benefits, education, inclusion of women, and healthcare.
After the screening, the group held a discussion of the film. Participants reflected on how the movie made them feel and how they can relate the film to their own societies and experiences.
“It was really interesting being an American Seed, and watching this movie on my last day in the Middle East, because most if not all its messaging is stated at me as an American citizen,” said Becca, an American Seed.
“It made me reflect on my time here, and what I can do to help make a difference in my community.”
