NORWAY | The public is invited to attend a gathering at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Christ Church, 35 Paris St., to hear Daniel Moses, director of delegation leaders for Seeds of Peace.
The evening is a joint covenant offering from St. Catherine of Sienna Roman Catholic Church and Christ Episcopal Church.
Moses will speak about Seeds of Peace and answer questions in an informal setting. He has titled the evening, “Seeds of Peace: Cultivating the Environment for Seeds of Peace to Flourish.”
The Seeds of Peace Camp is located in Otisfield. Each summer, youth come from far-flung places, especially those countries where there is political and other conflicts as well as strife with neighboring nations.
Seeds work to empower the young people to be leaders of the next generation, to equip them in communications and negotiating skills and to enable them to see the human face of their enemies.
Moses will talk about the genesis of Seeds of Peace, how Seeds has expanded and its mission. He will tell stories and he will talk about his own work as an educator.
Christ Church is located on the corner of Green and Paris streets. For more information, call the Rev. Anne Stanley at 743-6782.
