How have you impacted your community?

I manage Kashmir Unheard, a community news platform in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India. Kashmir Unheard is part of larger network called Video Volunteers, India. Our video stories address issues which remain unreported in the mainstream press. This type of community journalism exposes listeners to the people who face these issues on a daily basis.

We work with communities and empower them through storytelling and devise strategies for change using cheap mobile technology like smartphones and the Internet. I supervise a story from scratch until it is published.
