Can kids succeed where adults have failed? Jews and Arabs in the Middle East have been fighting for generations. “Our leaders have been trying to make peace, but the situation is going from bad to worse,” says Adham Rishmawi, 15, a Palestinian Arab, second from left. Adham is one of 72 American, Arab and Israeli teenagers belonging to a group called Seeds of Peace, which will meet this week in Villars, Switzerland. Their goal: to work toward peace between their people. “We want to achieve what our leaders can’t achieve,” says Adham.
Noa Epstein, 15, second from right, is an Israeli Jew who has learned that she can befriend Palestinians like Adham. She thinks the talks will set a good example: “I hope the world will listen to us and recognize that we have found a better way.”
