The Seeds of Peace Global Institute is a policy and advocacy program for participants from around the world.

During 14 intense days in Washington, D.C., committed participants interact with senior government officials, discuss global issues, and hone their skills to be public leaders for peace.

What is the Global Institute?

Delegations from around the world (e.g. United States, Middle East, Europe, South Asia) form strong relationships as they learn from the experiences of others from different backgrounds and communities who are equally committed to peace, justice, equity, and action.

In addition to dialogue, community-building, and cultural activities, the program has six key components:

Leadership Labs: World-class trainers lead experiential workshops in social entrepreneurship, public narrative, community organizing, and political advocacy.

Policy Roundtables: Together with experts, participants dive into the complexities of global issues, exploring topics related to geo-political conflicts, immigration, climate change, and more.

Strategy Sessions: Participants meet with advocacy organizations and grassroots leaders to understand diverse approaches to planning and implementing social change—from artistic collaboration, to youth empowerment, to citizen mobilization.

Interfaith Engagement: Religious communities have been central to movements for social change, so participants meet clergy & faith-rooted activists to study texts, share stories, and visit religious institutions at the forefront of interfaith cooperation for justice and peace.

Peace Actions: Participants work side-by-side with activists who are creating innovative solutions to the most challenging social problems, like homelessness, food security, and racial equity. Through these hands-on projects, participants are inspired to plan actions when they return home.

Advocacy: In partnership with local and global organizations such as the Alliance for Middle East Peace, participants meet with 50+ House and Senate offices in the United States Congress and other policy experts around Washington, DC. Collectively, we lobbying for and discuss a variety of globally relevant issues. Prior years included meetings seeking support for Israeli-Palestinian peace, support for immigrant and refugee communities, US gun reform legislation, and international climate action.
