Palestinian rapper SAZ and Israeli indie artist Sun Tailor first met at Seeds of Peace’s Mic & Pen Creative Retreat in 2017.
The four-day event, convened in the heart of the Negev Desert, brought together artists from across lines of difference committed to using music as a tool for social activism.
It is here where “Wake Up Now’s” two-year journey began. Sung in Arabic, English, and Hebrew, “Wake Up Now” speaks to our potential to rise above apathy, lead change, and ultimately transform conflict.
You can learn more about Sun and Saz’s project in the last episode of our podcast, INSPIRED, and watch them perform together the Composing for Peace concert in New York City.
Sun Tailor is also a Seeds of Peace GATHER Fellow, where he focused on ways to bridge divides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through music.
