Creating a network for the Middle East diaspora in Europe to collectively challenge xenophobia.
Challenge
Amidst the rise of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and xenophobia across Europe—the Middle Eastern diaspora of all strides are facing a new set of challenges.
Solution
Build a growing network of creatives—Jews, Arabs, and other Middle Eastern minorities—across Europe that serves as a platform to learn from one another’s local experiences and facilitate opportunities for new cultural and business projects.
Mohammad is the co-founder of the Mediterranean Migration Narrative Project, a program that aims to bring young Jews and Arabs who live in Europe to collaboratively and creatively challenge the predominant narrative about Middle Easterners in Europe.
He is also a renewable energy and economic development expert in the MENA region, with over 13 years of work experience in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel/Palestine, Tunisia, and the Gulf Countries Council.
“At a time when advanced nations pride themselves for the diversity of the composition of their societies, the Middle East is unfortunately becoming less and less diverse. it was first the Jews in the middle of the last century, and today it’s the Yezidis, Assyrians, and Copts who are being socially coerced to leave. This loss of diversity has for long irked me and it is why I am endeavoring in this project.”
