OTISFIELD, MAINE | Thanks to the fundraising and organizing efforts of American Seed and counselor Sarah Gross, a new vegetable garden is being added at the Seeds of Peace Camp.
Sarah raised over $6,000 to install 24 plant beds, and a team of volunteers, including Camp dialogue facilitator Emily Cohn and students from the Mountain School in Vermont, set up the beds this weekend. The garden will be used to grow vegetables for the Camp kitchen.
“Growing food has facilitated my connections to physical places and to people with many backgrounds, and I hope it will do the same for our campers—in Otisfield and in their hometowns,” said Sarah.
