JERUSALEM | Eighty Palestinian and Israeli Seeds saw each other for the first time since graduating from the Seeds of Peace Camp in Maine two weeks ago.
The 2016 Camper Reunion took place on August 11 at The American House Cultural Center in East Jerusalem.
“Watching the Seeds as they entered the space after not having seen each other for two weeks was a wonderful moment,” said Seeds of Peace Middle East Program Director Maayan Poleg.
“They were screaming out of excitement and had a very hard time letting go of each other.”
During the daylong reunion, the Seeds engaged in icebreaker activities and played games led by the staff and the PSs. In the dialogue sessions, they discussed their experiences returning home after Camp. They also heard from Seeds of Peace’s local staff, who introduced themselves and the programs that are available to Seeds.
“The program reminded me, with the unique energy that we only witness when we are in Camp, that our job is to keep this energy going here in the region,” said Ahmad, a Seed from Nablus.
