Greetings from Camp!
Although we have had a busy week getting ready for the arrival of over 150 campers from the Middle East and South Asia, nothing quite prepares you for the burst of excitement that erupts as the buses roll in:
This wasn’t an easy trip for any of the campers. But they took the risk of coming here, and will now begin the process of working with their supposed enemies to take the first steps towards peace.
We honor their courage.
Earlier this morning, the Camp gathered to raise the Seeds of Peace flag, marking the beginning of our 18th summer and the start of many days of important work. In the words of one of our Seeds at the flag raising, “Our countries are plagued by crises, but it is here at Seeds of Peace that we begin to gather the courage and confidence to confront them.”
I look forward to sharing more about their important journey throughout the summer. You can visit our website for daily updates, and join me in welcoming our newest Seeds to Camp.
With excitement and appreciation,
Leslie Adelson Lewin
