LAHORE | Fifteen Pakistani Seeds took part in a two-day workshop about the art of filming and producing documentaries.
The goal of the June 8 and 9 course was to teach the Seeds how to highlight human rights issues through documentary film and inspire them to create documentaries of their own.
“We set the objectives to inspire seeds to highlight human rights issues through documentary filmmaking,” said Seeds of Peace Director of Pakistani Programs Imran Khan. “I am so happy to share that we produced three brilliant documentaries!”
On the first day of the program, participants discussed the impact of film-making as well the necessary steps of film production. On the second day, Seeds were able to take their new found skillset and go out and film within their community.
“Today’s presentation on documentary film making [gave] us new ideas,” said Arifa, one of the participants. “These ideas will be helpful for us in the future.”
By the end of the program, the Seeds developed, filmed, and edited three insightful documentaries.
“I am very happy to see participants interested and [having a] passion for social media and using films to empower and reform society,” said Naveed Hamid, the program instructor.
“I will go back as a motivated trainer to sow more seeds of media activism in other communities, institutions, and organizations.”
Great work. Keep it up, stay blessed.
Well done.
