Chase Challenge advisory board awards Seeds of Peace additional $100,000

Thank you!

UPDATE: Inspired by Seeds of Peace's proposal, the Advisory Board of the Chase Community Giving Challenge has awarded Seeds of Peace one of six additional $100,000 grants.

The panel, which includes NBA Hall of Famer David Robinson and actress Eva Longoria, announced Monday that it will award Seeds of Peace an additional $100,000 towards empowering the next generation of leaders.

During the $25,000 first round of the Challenge, Seeds of Peace competed against hundreds of thousands of other non-profits to advance to the final round, along with 99 other groups.

“This challenge inspired and energized the Seeds of Peace family to reach out to our communities in unique ways,” said Seeds of Peace Director Leslie Lewin.

From a mosque in Kabul to a high school newspaper in Chicago, Seeds around the world used a wide range of platforms to gather support.

Women's Economic Empowerment Conference, DC

On the final day of the Washington, DC, component of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Program, participants reflected on their experiences and explored how they can leverage their new skills to serve as mentors, advisors and volunteers for future Seeds of Peace and CEDPA programming. CEDPA, Seeds of Peace’s partner in the program, surprised the participants by announcing that its staff were so impressed by the Seeds' projects they will offer a grant competition for Seeds to compete for additional funding to continue their important work.
